Lynette Sawyer, MS, CCC-SLPOwner/Speech-Language PathologistMy desire for helping others improve their communication skills began when I was in elementary school. My sister, who is six years younger than me, required speech-language therapy starting at an early age. I remember going to the clinic, meeting her speech therapist, and thinking, "I want to do that one day!"
The calling to help others, particularly children, persisted. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science (1996) and Master of Science (1998) degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I served as a public school Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for 19 years. During this time I also provided early intervention services (as a contract provider for the same clinic my sister had attended!). In 2017, I felt led to expand my professional and personal skills. I resigned from my full-time public school job to start my private practice- Coastal Speech Therapy Solutions. I am licensed in North Carolina, Georgia, Maine, Colorado, and California. I am certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). I provide face-to-face services, as well as videoconferencing services (called teletherapy or telespeech). I live in northeast North Carolina with my husband and two children. I enjoy reading, decorating, and spending quiet time at home. It is my goal to provide clients with practical and evidence-based communication solutions. I truly love what I do! I am honored that you are considering partnering with Coastal Speech Therapy Solutions! |
